How to replace drum baffle on Whirlpool Duet font load washer
Model Number: WFW9400SW00
Brand: Whirlpool
Age: 1-5 years
One of the drum baffles broke off on my Whirlpool Duet front load washer. How hard is this to replace? It almost looks like you have to pull the whole drum out to get to them?
How to replace a drum baffle on a Whirlpool Duet style washer
Replacing the drum baffles on these washers is pretty easy.
First make sure to unplug the washer.
Then go behind the washer and remove the three screws holding the top panel down.

Next remove the hose going into the top of the outer wash tub.

Place new baffle into the slots and then firmly pull it towards you to lock it into place.

Now if you purchased the drum baffle kit that includes 3 baffles and 3 screws (part number 285976), you will want to put in the provide screws. From the factory Whirlpool does not put any screws in the baffles, but if you buy the replacement kit they provides screws for you to use to secure the baffles so they do not come back out. Rotate the baffle to the top of the drum, and then look through the hole (where the dispenser hose was) and you should be able to see where the screw goes.
