Samsung 3 door refrigerator with ice maker in the refrigerator compartment. Over a year of no problems. Then, constant freeze over every couple of weeks. Defrost required and it worked again for a while. Finally, after the last defrost it stopped dropping ice. Tried everything. Would only drop ice with reset button. Called for service. Still under 2 year warranty by about 10 days. Samsung service replaced the ice maker, and a control board in the back of the refrigerator and sealed the ice compartment to stop the freeze over problem. The repair man said I would have ice in about 4 or 5 hours. Twenty-four hours later still no ice. Here is the unique part. Pressing the reset allows it to cycle and dump a load of ice. Then it doesn't drop any ice again. I took the dispenser portion out of the bin and within about 90 seconds it drops a load of ice into the ice maker compartment. So, it functions when hitting reset or removing dispenser tray. After about 12 hours I contacted Samsung service via text. I was assured that it would drop ice in 24 hours from installation. The quote was "not to worry". Well now, I am worried. Does anyone have any idea why it is capable of making ice but won't drop it without reset or removing the dispenser?
