My old icemaker stopped on me. When I pressed the test switch I didn't hear anything. I replace it with SKU SAMDA97-05422A part PD00001987. After I installed the new icemaker last night, I pressed the test switch and didn't hear anything. I assumed there was some other issue with the Refrigerator. When I checked this morning there was ice. My question is, when I press the test switch, shouldn't I have heard something?

Pressing the test switch doesn't always do something. I think this ice maker has to be below a certain temperature before the switch will cycle the ice maker.
What error message are you getting? Most of the time, the overfill switch stopped working. Test it if you have a multimeter and replace it. Furthermore, I recommend you to clean your ice maker regularly with a blower and vinegar.
