washer wont go to spin cycle

    Model Number: MAH6700AWW
    Brand: Maytag
    Age: 6-10 years

i just replaced my maytag neptune washer pump motor with a new one, but now the washer will not continue to the spin cycle. we tested it the first time after installing the new pump by just selecting rinse and spin cycle, it rinses fine, but when it gets to spin, it has been sitting there for about 20 minutes. any help would be appreciated.

Did it spin okay before you replaced the drain pump?

no, it originally gave the "nd" error code right after the rinse cycle. we tried to get it to go again, and it kept giving the error. so we replaced the pump motor, per recommendations on web.

UPDATE: after about 30 minutes of it sitting waiting to go to spin cycle, after pump replacement, it gave the "nd" code again.

Was the tub full of water when it gave you the ND code again? It sounds to me like it might not be sensing the water level in the tub correctly, and it doesn't think that the water has drained out of the washer.

yes, tub full of water when it gave the "nd" code. a simple moving of the drain hose to floor level drained the entire tub of water, with no problems, so there is no blockage of the drain line. and new drain motor is assumed to be good, although i have no way of testing other than to install in washer and run it. could this be something more with the electrical somewhere else?

Do you hear the drain pump motor running when it is supposed to be draining the water out? Do you have a volt meter or multi-meter than you can use to test for voltage to the pump?
