[FIXED] Maytag fills up, then won't start

    Model Number: mav7600aww
    Brand: Maytag
    Age: 6-10 years

Maytag washer fills up, then won't start. Unplugged it, took off back panel. Lightly tapped a few items, plugged it back in and it worked.
    What's going on?

The most common part that will cause those types of symptoms is the lid switch starting to fail. If it starts to act up again, you can unplug the washer, disconnect the wire connector to the lid switch and check the switch for continuity. Let me know what you find.

This is the lid switch for your model washer:

You're right! Switch was bad--got a new one and all is well.
    Thanks you so much!

Great, I am glad the lid switch took care of your problem! I updated the status of your thread to FIXED.
