How to replace diverter motor in Kenmore Elite dishwasher

I bought a replacement diverter motor W10155344, but have a couple of questions. What do I do with the fusible link that came with it? Is there a way to make sure it seals without replacing the sump?

The motor fuse is located in the console (top part of the door). If water is leaking from the diverter motor, it is also recommended to replace the sump at the same time. Some people have used silicone grease on the seal to help it seal better. Make sure if you put grease on the seal that the grease is not corrosive to the rubber seal.
