[FIXED] GE Washer spin cycle speed issue with and without load

    Model Number: WBVH6240FWW
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

Dr. I have a GE front load washer (WBVH6240FWW) with a spin cycle problem.
Problem in spin cycle mode is not getting up to maximum speed leaving a load of clothes still damp, however if the washer was empty it would get up to maximum speed. Please help!

    No strange noises from washer
No burning smell from belt or motor

    Thanks,
    SuperD

Is all of the water draining out of the washer properly? Have you checked the pump filter to see if it is clogged up? How wet are the clothes after the spin cycle, can you ring out water from them easily?

Does the washer start to spin at all? Do you get any error codes?

the washer spins but not fast enough to ring out the water out of the clothes. Another issue i have noticed is that the washer is not completing the full wash cycle. For instance if I set the washer for a quick wash the washer would start but never complete. The washer just stops in the middle of the cycle and goes into a pause mode. I would have to hit the start button again to restart where it has stopped. Stop time have been inconsistent.

I emailed you the service manual for this washing machine. You can read through it and run through the testing and diagnostics in the manual. Let me know what you find.

Great, thanks for the update! I am glad it was a simple fix. I wouldn't have guessed that the water valve filling slowly would cause those types of symptoms. I have updated the status of this thread to FIXED.
