Slow Ice production and temperature readings off

    Model Number: PFSS6PKWBSS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

Team, This refrigerator has had the same problem since it was new....oddly it produces ice very slow and usually only after you activate the "TURBO" freeze and refrigerate options on the control panel. After activating these options the unit will also read 26 or 27 degrees in the fridge when placing an analog thermometer in the unit it reads 34 degrees. It looks like from other similar forums that people have had issues with main circuit board and ice makers, since my ice maker works (just slow) it leads me to think either main circuit board or possibly temperature sensors....what are your thoughts? Thanks

There are many things that can cause low ice production on refrigerators. Most commonly low ice production on these models is caused by the ice maker being defective. You can read through some of our customers repair stories here and read the symptoms other people have had. Your model refrigerator is also part of this service bulletin and the main control board may also need to be replaced. Other things that can cause low ice production are low water pressure (clogged water filter, low flow at supply line, bad water valve ect), and the ice maker compartment not cooling down properly.

This is the ice maker and main control board for your model:

    Ice Maker - DA97-05422A

    Main Control Board - WR55X10763
