    GE refrigerator temperature issues

    Model Number: CFCP1N1XB
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

My refrigerator is freezing items in the fruit drawer as well as random spots in the refrigerator. The digital temp control board seemed sporadic (temp would float up and down drastically) so I replaced it but it doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. SometLimes I will open the door after an extended period and it would read in the low 50s and other times 36 ( its set on 37 as recommended). If anyone knows my next step please chime in.
now the ice maker has stopped making ice.

    Thx all
    Buz

Have you also been monitoring the freezer temperature? If so, has that also been fluctuating?

Freezer has been fine. Stays around 0 to -2. Ice maker iis really slow now though. Couple dumps (literally 2) overnight. very frustrating and I would never buy one of these nits again. Is there an easy we to test he thermistors without taking them out? I know they should be around 16.5 ohms in I e water but I don't know how to test them (if that's a possibility). Board wise, I hink there is only one other (main) board and would like to. Be sure if thats it since its pretty expensive and. Already dumped $120 for the temp. control board.

    Thanks for your attention.

Doc, yes. It's floated a little as far as I know . I just checked and it is zero. Wife said she saw 8 yesterday without it being opened though.
    Thx

Do you see any frost buildup on the back freezer wall?

Can I have you take a picture of the evaporator coil after the refrigerator has been running for at least 15-20 minutes with the door closed? To do this, first unplug the refrigerator, then remove the back panel in the freezer. Plug the refrigerator back in, and let it run for 15-20 minutes. Unplug the refrigerator and put the panel back in the freezer when you are done. I need to see the frost pattern on the coil to make sure the cooling system is working properly.
