    dryer wont heat after new element

    Model Number: LER7646EQ1
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

    Have a whirlpool dryer that stopped heating I replaced the element the dryer heated for one cycle and now it wont heat again. What else could be the cause of this?

    Do you have an ohm meter or multi meter that you can make some checks with? There are many different things that can cause a dryer not to heat.

    Thermal fuses are good element tests good is it just the thermostat and how do I test that

    To test the thermostats, you will need to unplug the dryer and remove the thermostat. You will need to test it for continuity between the two terminals. On the 4 wire thermostat, you will test for continuity between the two larger terminals. If it has continuity then it is good, if it does not then it is bad.
