    refrigerator runs constantly

    Model Number: GSL25XGWASS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hi,
I have a GE side by side refrigerator, # GSL25XGWASS.
My problem started out, that the refrigerator part was to warm, I change the setting to 37F, when I cleaned the fridge, there was a puddle of water in the bottom part. The unit is running without stopping, The temperature for the freezer is -9 F and no matter how often I try to change the temperature, it stays the same. The temperature in the fridge is cooler now. Would be nice if you could tell me what the problem is, or how I can find out.
    Thanks so much

Can I have you measure the temperature of the refrigerator and freezer using a thermometer for me please?

Do you see any frost build up on the lower back panel in the freezer?

There are a few things you will have to check. The freezer may not be going through the automatic defrost cycle. When this happens the frost blocks the air flow and it will throw off the temperatures. There are multiple temperature sensors located in the refrigerator and freezer, you could have one or more of these that are bad. Click here for a guide on testing the sensors. Other things that control board temperature are the main control board, air damper assembly, and the fans that circulate the air.
