    GE Washer leak or overflow

    Model Number: GTWN5050M0WS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum and I appreciate the opportunity to learn from others with experience and knowledge that I do not possess.

I have a two year old GE washer, model GTWN5050M0WS. I am having a problem with overflowing of a decent amount of water inside and outside the washer. I opened up the unit and all of the hose connections are tight and not leaking. I looked at the bottom of the tub and there is a little moisture but not enough to account for all the water. I checked the end of the flood hose and it was wet inside. It happens on larger loads. Five people in the house makes for lots of laundry. Do you have any idea what the problem might be? The GE answer center suggested that it was too much detergent or loads that are too large. I was ready to order a new tub seal. It probably needs it, but I don't think that this is the main problem. Do you have any other thoughts and what the remedy might be?

    Thanks for your help!

How do you know it is overflowing? Where are you seeing the leaking water?

Inside of the bottom of the unit collecting in all of the recesses of the metal base and it leaked out a few feet past the front panel.

You might have to watch it run through a cycle to see where the water is coming from.
