High Voltage Control Board Not Working

    Model Number: AFI2538AEB
    Brand: Amana
    Age: 1-5 years

My display on my Amana refrigerator was flashing and the ice machine door was opening and closing. I ordered a new high voltage control board from you and when it came I installed it. I followed the instructions provided and tried to enter the code on my refrigerator, 2012. It would not take the code. I saw on the instructions someone had handwritten another code, 0302. It accepted that code. I tried the water dispenser and it worked. I put the cover for the control board back on and pushed the refrigerator back against the wall. I went to get myself a glass of water and the dispenser was not working. I unplugged the refrigerator waited about 5 minutes and tried again, but this time when I plugged it back in, the display was flashing and the ice machine door was opening and closing again. Please help.

The control board is not accepting the code because it is not the correct part for your serial number.

This is the correct part for your model and serial number:

Interesting. When I did a search for the part using my model number your website said I needed part 12920710. Could I exchange this part for the correct one?

To correctly search for part for your model you have to add the first two digits of the serial number to the end of the model number, like this AFI2538AEB13. This will show the correct parts for your model and serial number. We received your return request and we will be responding to that by email.
