Question Dryer heats but not enough

    Model Number: SDE515DAYW
    Brand: Maytag
    Age: 1-5 years

My dryers heats up but not enough. It takes a lot longer to dry cloths then just about a week ago. Someone told me that I may have to buy a heating element. What do you think?

The heating element on a dryer is usually either good or bad. Usually when a dryer is not "heating enough" it is usually a venting problem. Either the dryer exhaust vent is clogged up and not flowing properly, or the dryer itself is getting clogged up with lint, or both. If you do not take care of this problem quickly, you could burn out other parts in the dryer. I would recommend not using the dryer until you find the problem.
