Dryer heating coil only has 120v running through it

replaced the heating coil since it shorted out on the back of the heating coil housing , with a volt meter I can only see 120volts running through heating coil.
checked thermo stats seam to be ok .

any help from any one would be a life saver

Have to checked to see if you have 240V at the outlet and where the cord attaches to the unit?

with my meter I see 119.8 volts on each leg

The next things to check would be the control thermostat, high limit thermostat, and timer. You will have to unplug the dryer and you can check the thermostats for continuity. The timer you will have to use the chart on the schematic to test the contacts for continuity.
