    Refrigerator Section Freezing

    Model Number: GSH22JFTEWW
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

I have a GE GSH22JFTEWW refrigerator. The refrigerator section is freezing items. I have replaced the refrigerator section temp sensor and the main control board (mother board) and it continues to do this. I know there are two more sensors in the freezer section but would they cause the refrigerator section to freeze they if they are malfunctioning?

Please see the attached diagram. Behind #429 is usually an air damper that control the air flow into the refrigerator, but it seems to be missing from the part lookup information for your model number. This part is what controls the air flow into the refrigerator from the freezer, it is located in the top left corner of the refrigerator section.

I removed part 429 and there is nothing behind it except a foam insulated opening into the freezer section just above the ice-maker equipment, Part 429 does have a "mylar flapper" which blows open toward the refrigerator section so extra pressure in the refrigerator would close it. I'm wondering if there is a fan somewhere the causes a slight over pressure condition in the refrigerator to limit freezer air, thoughts? I switched out the temp sensor located on the evaporator today (I had one extra temp sensor) as this is the one that everyone says fails the most so I'll see if that helps. Any additional ideas are appreciated.

    Thanks.

Can I have you measure the freezer and refrigerator temperatures using a thermometer for me?
