SAMSUNG RSG257AARS Sep 2008 build ice maker problems

water freezing in water inlet tube. but... ..shut water off melted all ice in tube and maker, poured cup of water in tray (again, H2O off) = no ice. just froze in tray. no drips from inlet tube while water off. am thinking i need (at least) the water inlet valve but maybe both that and the ice maker (assume ice maker model: IMC-702 # DA97-06364B - due to year made) ??? suggestions? i've removed and replaced the ice maker 3X now hoping for a micacle. hurry with suggestions.. ..wife gets 'moody' without her filtered water and ice r/steve

When you thawed the water inlet tube, did you blow through it afterwards to make sure it was free of ice?

no. ..but i left the hairdryer on it for a lenthy period after a piece about 2" long slid out. i went through the same process 3x and ran a pull-tie down the tube as far as i could - seemed clear.

ok.. ..while waiting i've searched other sites and am now confused about part #s. for my model fridge: samsung rsg257aars built sep 2008 i get two numbers for both ice maker and water inlet valves. ice makers: 1) DA97-06364B and 2) DA97-07549B.

for water inlet valves: 1) DA62-00914B and DA97-08587A

help....??

disregard on the ice maker. the blue tag on bottom has DA97-06364B.

still not sure on the water inlet valve....

I would recommend to blow through the line to make sure it is thawed out completely. For determining the correct water inlet valve I would recommend to contact Samsung, some parts on Samsung models can vary depending on the manufacture date as you are finding.
