    Whirlpool Gas range -intermittent brolier(only)

    Model Number: WFG374LVS1
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

The range works fine as does the oven work 100% - the Broiler appears to have intermittent problems.

I'll press Broil --> Start and I'll hear the clicks and look through the window and see the flames

5 minutes later I'll open the oven and it will be barely warm
so I press Start again ... and get the three beeps that tell you it's already on (but it's not)

So I press CANCEL & then Broil --> Start and it comes on and usually stays on.

The control panel appears to be fully integrated, so I have 3 culprits
    1) Control panel
    2) Gas valve
    3) Temp Probe

so here are my three questions:
First - are there any other likely components
Second - are there any test procedures?
Third - what are the best guesses as to the most likely cause?

The most common things that we see cause problems on the DSI (direct spark ignition) model gas ranges is the spark module control board and the gas valve (and sometimes both).

Diagnosing these is complicated, so I will recommend that you follow the service manuals instructions. I will PM you a link to download the service manual for the DSI.

These are the parts for your model:

Spark Module Control Board - W10331686

    Gas Valve Assembly - W10293048
