    Samsung FL Elec Dryer

    Model Number: DV316LES
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 6-10 years

I have a front load Samsung Dryer. Today, the Start/Pause button stopped working. Could not finish drying the clothes. My husband is a very good mechanic. He took off the cover and removed the control board. The button seems to be loose. Do you think I need to replace the main control board? or is there another solution to the problem?

Can you please double check your model number? It is not coming up for me.

I have the original sales receipt which has the info on it, i.e. "Samsung FL Elec Dryer DV316LES. When I was attempting to order a part last night from Parts Dr I was told that the Main Control Board part was no longer available.

You should locate the model number from the model and serial number tag on the dryer, not the receipt. The tag should be located on a sticker around the opening of the door.

Thank you, I was able to locate your model number now. First thing to check is that the dryer is receiving approximately 240v coming into the dryer. Next, check that the door switch is working correctly and then check the thermal fuses/thermostats on the dryer for continuity.

All of your suggestions have been checked out. The pause/start button contacts evidently have been worn out. We either need to replace that piece, or alternatively if that piece is not available, we need an entire new board.

The user interface control board that has the start button on it has been discontinued by the manufacture and is no longer available. Samsung does not sell any parts on the control board separately.
