No Display on Whirlpool washer GVW9959KL2

    Model Number: GVW9959KL2
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 6-10 years

    Hello,

    I get no display.
    .
It has AC, and the +12VDC. I have disconnected the motor board hoping it will display something, or give error code. Pump does not have any obstructions in it

Is there a sensor that is causing the machine to be off?

    Thanks.

Does the washer operate other than the display not working?

No, it does not show any signs of life, no sett. But it has 120VAC and +12V on the controller board. Should I see a display even with bad motor or pump? One time, when I had the washer on its side, I turned it on and it had display. I turned it off, then made it upright and connected the hoses to it so I can test it. No display again. Put it back down and no display. Very confusing.

With a bad motor or pump the control board should still power up and the other functions of the washer should still work.

    Hi,

I ended buying a new Whirlpool HE washer. I kind of like the old one better. The new one sometimes get confused sensing clothes.

But back to the Whirlpool washer GVW9959KL2. I still like to fix the controller board. I have the controller board out of the washer, along with the touch panel that include all the function keys and the RED LED display. All the IC's have +5V DC on them, upon pressing one of the buttons on the panel. Using a scope, I see a 1KHZ signal appear on one of the connector pins between the panel and the Controller board. But nothing on the on the RED LED display. It is completely off.

Can someone help me trouble shoot this? A new board costs over $200.

    Thanks.

We do not get into repairing individual components on control boards. Whirlpool does not sell any individual components for the circuit boards, they only recommend to replace the circuit board as an assembly if there is a failure.
