    pdw8480j10ss won't fully drain

    Model Number: pdw8480j10ss
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

Our GE dishwasher won't fully drain. We end up with standing water just under the heating coil. When I press start button the dishwasher seem to drain the old water first then start the wash cycle, but at the end the water is still there. Please advise on what to look for. Thanks.

Do you hear the drain pump motor running or humming like it is trying to drain? Have you checked the drain hose and sink connections for any clogs or restrictions?

    Ryan,

I don;t hear any unusual sounds. It works as it usually does. I also think that it drains the water at the beginning of the cycle as the dishes come out clean and the water is not overflowing on the floor. I will check for the clogs when I get home.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
