[FIXED] GE Profile Ice Maker Clicking

    Model Number:
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

GE Profile side by side fridge with ice maker in upper door. Starting clicking very loudly a couple weeks ago. After some research found that ice maker assy needed replaced. Order part DA97-05422A and installed. Next night clicking back!!

More research... My original ice maker was stamped 2008-05-10, but this new I just replaced it with is a 2007 mfg date. It's not making ice, sometimes clicks, will stop the noise and then just sit there. I figure since my original was May 2008, I was okay without the circuit board replacement that some have had to do...

    Any ideas?

The ice maker should have a manufacture date much newer than 2007. Did you buy a new ice maker from us, or did you buy a refurbished ice maker from another store?

I got it from another source; obvious refurb unit. I'm returning it and will find same model from Parts Dr shop.

Sounds good, let me know how it works when you get the new ice maker installed. We do not see very good luck with refurbished ice makers, for the price difference it is worth purchasing a new one.
