Whirlpool Duet HT - water standing in tub in morning/sometimes after wash a load

    Model Number: WFW9200SQ02
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hi Dr.
We are finding water in the tub in the morning and sometimes after washing a load of clothes. I think it's the water valve . What part do I need to order and what are the steps to replacing and repairing the unit.

Your model uses part number 8182862 for the water valve. You can click the link below.

    Water Inlet Valve - PD00003431 (mfg# 8182862)

Here are instructions on how to replace the part:

    1. Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply to the washer.
    2. Remove the top panel by removing the 3 screws and then sliding the panel back and lifting it up.
    3. Remove the hot and cold water inlet hoses.
    4. Remove the clamp and small hose from the outlet of the water valve.
    5. Remove mounting screw
    6. Remove old leaking valve, and replace with new valve.
    7. Reinstall in the reverse order
