    [FIXED] dryer stops too soon

    Model Number: DV219AEW/XAA
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

My dryer stops before cycle is done. The code that comes up is not in the manual. The code that comes up is bO, but the right side of the b is open.

The error code you are receiving is most likely a t0, which means thermistor open sensed. The dryer shows this error code when the thermistor resistance is very high. To test the thermistor you will need to unplug the dryer, and remove the thermistor from the dryer and using and Ohm meter to test the thermistor. The thermistor at room temperature should read approximately 10k ohms. If it is far off from that, the sensor will need to be replaced. Let me know what you find.

This is the thermistor for your model dryer:

    Thermistor - PD00001996 (mfg# DC32-00007A)

Please see the link below for information about the tS error code. Your model dryer uses the same part number PD00001996 for the thermistor.

Ordered part and it's not on my dryer. After taking the dryer apart, I found three parts, A thermal fuse, high limit thermostat, and a DC96-00887a. Could any one of these item be the reason for the error.

The thermistor is located on the blower housing, to the right of the blower fan.

The ohm reading on the thermister is 9.6k ohms. Close enough to 10 right? Could it be a relay for motor or thermostat?

Did you replace the thermistor on the dryer with a new one? If so you may have to manually clear the error code to get the dryer working. See this post for more information. 9.6K ohms is probably close enough. Since the thermistor is pretty inexpensive, I would probably replace it anyways just to be sure. Sometimes they can act up intermittently and show a good ohm reading even though the part is bad. If the thermistor is good and you are still getting a tS error code, then you should check to make sure there are not any shorts in the wiring going to the thermistor. If that checks out okay, then you most likely have a bad main control board.

This is the main control board for your model dryer:

    Main Control Board - Part # PD00002035 (mfg # DC92-00160A)
