[FIXED] Maytag dishwasher DOA

My maytag M# MDB7609AWW2 stopped working. The only cycles lights that work are heavy and light. When either one is pressed heated dry light comes on. Nothing else works. Every now and then the drain pump will run when I cycle power and hit buttons. The door switch and overload are good. I'm thinking control panel that has the push buttons.

In most cases when these dishwashers act this way, it is usually a failure of the touchpad control panel. If you remove the bottom panel of the dishwasher, on the back side of the bottom panel is a tech sheet. On that sheet is a section that says "Checking Keypad Operation" which has some things that you can do to try to narrow down the problem. If the tests are not conclusive then you should start by replacing the touchpad control panel, and then replace the main control board if the problem persists. Let me know what you find.

Found tech sheet, checked out touchpad panel and ran test, found it to be bad. Ordered new part from PartsDr on Sunday and had it Tuesday morning...WOW! Dishwasher is up and running. Thanks Dr Ryan.
