[FIXED] Thermistor open code came up 60 seconds After new thermistor installed

    Model Number: MHWE200XW00
    Brand: Maytag
    Age: 1-5 years

My dryer would run without heating and the diagnostic code F3E1 appeared after running 60 seconds on timed cycle. the code i researched indicates an open thermistor so i order the proper part and replaced and again turned the dryer on this time the heat comes on again after 60 seconds the F3E1 code appears this time the dryer shuts off. i need help with this any help would be greatly appreciated. also ohm across thermistor both old and new is 9.5 at room temp if that helps any....

The model number that you put down is for a washer not a dryer.

was also wondering if a low voltage supply could be causing the thermistor to go bad??

It sounds like you have already located the tech sheet on the dryer. Follow the instructions for test #3a for testing the exhaust thermistor. If the thermistor and wiring are both good, then you most likely have a bad main control board. What is the voltage to your dryer?

This is the main control board for your model dryer:

    Main Control Board - Part # PD00004988 (mfg # W10235613)

yes i located the tech sheet, and performed the tests all are within spec. i have recently moved into this house and had to have a local electrician come in and install a 4 prong outlet for the dryer. when i tested the power terminal at the back of the dryer for voltage i was getting 110 on one side and the other was 0 so i went thru the wiring and found that the outlet was connected wrong and went and re wired the outlet the way it was suppose to be and now both hot wires are getting 110 and combined the meter said 240. so i was curious as to if this condition could have made the control board as you posted above go bad??

Yes having the power supply connected incorrectly to the dryer could have been sending 120v through the ground/neutral wires and that can cause the control board(s) to fail.
