Question whirlpool duet washer door pulls away or sags

    Model Number: GHW9100LW2
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: More than 10 years

this washer is in great shape for being as old as it is but it has one problem: the door pulls away at the top. i have disassembled it to look at the hinge and oddly that seems in good working order. now this door is really acouple of plastic peices around the big glass bowl window. could the plastic warp and make this happen. if not is the hinge really precise and i am just not seeing the issue? they are about 100$ so if i could shim it instead that would be a great help as my finances are unfortunate.the operation of the washer seems unaffected by the door not meeting. it just gets water and soap around the hinge and would corrode it eventually. thank you in advance of any light shed on this issue

Either of those things could cause the problem. It is more common for the hinge to go bad than the door to warp, and our price is much lower than $100 for the hinge. I am not sure if you can shim the hinge; I do not think the hinge is designed to be taken apart. Let me know what you find solves your problem.

This is the door hinge for your model washer:
