[FIXED] Problems with ice maker and clicking noise

    Model Number: RF26VABBP
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 6-10 years

I've read a lot about the clicking noise and low or no ice production regarding the SAMSUNG model # RF26VABBP French Door Refrigerator. Most all posts say to replace the PCB main board along with the ice
maker. I have completed those two jobs but now have another problem. The displays on the front panel
of the left door just above the ice dispenser shows sets of 2-8's (88) (88). How do you get the front
panel to react to the commands the you are in-putting via the buttons? I have followed all of the steps that
Samsung's technical support people gave me to no avail. The said I needed to call a service person
to check out my problem. I hope that someone has an answer to this problem so it will not cost an arm
and leg to get this issue cleared up....Thanks In Advance....Terry

What are the part numbers of the parts that you replaced? Also, can you get me the BOM name (model code) from the model and serial number tag?

The following (old) parts that were replaced......Ice Maker----IMC701
    PCB Main Control Board----DA41-00422A

The following (new) parts that were installed....Ice Maker----DA97-05422A
    PBA Main Control Board----DA41-00413C

BOM name (model code) from the model and serial number tag?.....BOM Name------RF26VABBP/XAA
    Serial Number--081242BQ700373T

I sure hope this helps....I have a feeling that the Main Control Board may be the wrong one even though
it was stated that the new control board had new software updates. The ice maker appears to be the same
one based upon visual inspection though the model number is different.

    Thanks.....Terry

According to your refrigerators information, the main control board that you installed is not correct for your refrigerator.

This is the correct main control board for your refrigerator:

    Main Control Board - Part # PD00002038 (mfg # DA41-00413K)

After a lot of research through various web sites and forums, I have arrived at the same conclusion you have. The part that you have listed above is the same part number I found about 5 minutes ago. I appreciate your information and the help that you have given to me. I have the part bookmarked and will be ordering it from THE PARTS Dr first thing in the morning. Ryan, thanks again for your help. I will let you know how it turns out......TERRY

    Hello Doc Ryan,
I installed the parts that I ordered from the PartsDr yesterday. The ice maker and the PCB main control
board were simple to install due to the fact that they are both plug-and-play devices. The display panel
on the left front door works perfectly. Thanks to you and the PartsDr, we now have good ice production
and no more clicking noise. Way to go PartsDr. You have a new customer for life......Terry Wallace
