    [FIXED] damper cycling

    Model Number: FRS23KR4A
    Brand: Frigidaire
    Age: 6-10 years

Damper unit can be heard and cold air can be felt coming into the refrig. side but it is cycling on and off. The printed circuit board was changed before under warranty. It was causing the refrig. side to freeze. Could the board again be causing this cycling problem or is it possibly something else.

How often does the damper cycle? What kind of problem are you having with the refrigerator now?

Your model number is missing two digits at the end. Can you double check your model number for me please? How often does the damper cycle?

frs23kr4aq2 sorry different sticker showed rest of model number it seems to cycle when ever it's time to cool down the refrig.
But instead of damper just staying on it cycles on and off some then shuts off.

The control board on this refrigerator does not control the damper, the damper is controlled in conjunction with the two thermostats. On this refrigerator they have made some design changes to the damper, thermostats, and control board, so if the damper or thermostat(s) are bad the whole assembly will have to be replaced. Normally the damper should just open or close once when it is needed.

This is the damper control assembly for your model refrigerator:
