dryer motor issue

I had to replace the therms on my Samsung dryer, and now Im having an issue with the motor.

When I started it to make sure it was working, the drum barely spun, then the motor made a loud screaching noise and quit. I know this is a very vague description of my problem, but does anyone have any possible suggestions as to what may be happening?

What is the model number from your dryer? Have you disassembled the dryer to see if you can see anything wrong?

Samsung DV419AEW/XAA.

Ive taken it apart twice, everything seems to be in order. I can spin the pulley freely, the drum will spin by hand, although it takes a little bit of force to spin.

Does the dryer make any noise when you try to start it?

It does, like the motor is trying to turn the drum, but cant.

What I would try next is to remove the belt and tape the belt break switch closed to see if the motor runs when the belt is not connected.
