Thumping sound while dispensing water or filling auto ice maker in GE Profile

I have a problem similar to the one in the link below.

I have a GE Profile PFSS9PKYASS refrigerator that thumps loudly when we get water. It started after replacing the filter and happens most of the time even if the bypass is in and there is no filter. It also happens with a different filter so it's not the filter. It has happened a few times when we empty the ice bin and the machine tries to fill it up with water. We pulled the unit out of the wall and it sounds like noise is coming from the area where the water line enters the back of the fridge (on the other side of the case from where the filter sits).

What would you recommend replacing first?

First, try shutting off the water to the refrigerator and remove the water supply line and spray it into a bucket to make sure noise isn't coming from the house plumbing. If the plumbing isn't making any noise and the noise is still coming from the water valve on the back of the refrigerator, then the problem could be that the water valve has a failure.
