GE replaced main control board, temperature control not working

    Model Number: AG406883
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

We replaced the main control board WR55X10942 on the fridge, it is cooling the freezer and seems to me it is cooling the fridge side a little. However, the digital temperature control inside the fridge doesn't work and when we push the buttons it beeps and reads 000 on both temperature settings. Will the temperature control not working properly have anything to do with the cooling and will it cause the flapper to not open to the fridge? We cut the second white wire on the 9 pin plug but it still didn't help.

The model number AG406883 is not a valid GE refrigerator model number. Please double check this. Also, did digital temperature control previously work with the old control board?

Yes, it worked before but was unplugged for years before replacing main control. Also, I have since purchased a thermometer and the fridge is reading about 42.

What was the problem with the old main control board? If you reinstall the old control board does the display work still?
