    How to clean stator?

    Model Number: WTW6600SW2
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 6-10 years

Bearing trashed and stator moderate to heavily covered in oil/grease from bearing! Can I clean the stator before reinstalling? If so what's best method? I just bought the bearing replacement kit and tool from Parts Dr. So I have a couple of days and would like to clean stator if possible.

I am not sure the best thing to use. I am thinking maybe an auto parts brake cleaner if you can find one that is safe to use on plastic. Let us know what you use to clean it and how it worked.
