Maytag Neptune smoking during spin cycle

My Maytag Neptune started smoking today during the spin cycle. When I run it with nothing in it it doesn't seem to smoke, only with a load in it. The drive belt looks OK visually, but may be a little loose. I have not tried to run it with the back off to see if that is where the smoke is coming from, but it appeared to be the case when it was running. Any ideas?

I'm not getting any noise out of it at all. Everything sounds and seems normal, except for the smoke in the spin cycle.

I am not sure what would be causing the smoke. If the belt were slipping and smoking it should have some signs of wear on it. I would also take a look at the inner tub of the washer to see if it looks like it is rubbing on the front door gasket or the front outer tub.
