    Question [FIXED] Amana washer problem

    Model Number: NTW4600YQ1
    Brand: Amana
    Age: 1-5 years

Hello.... my washer "used" to allow me to use warm water but not anymore. The cold/cold cycle and the hot/cold cycle work just fine. However, when I select the warm/cold cycle - all I get is cold water. The washer used to alternate between hot and cold water on the warm/cold cycle in order to get the warm water. Now it is just cold (no cycling). I am not sure why??? I am "assuming" that the WTC switch is good - since it runs water on all of the cycles???

    Thanks.....

This problem could be caused by a bad temperature selector switch, water inlet valve, or main control board. The water inlet valve has a built in temperature sensor that senses the water temperature, if this sensor is bad it might not be reading the temperature correctly. Does the washer fill up with hot water okay?

I sent you a PM to download the tech sheet for your model washer. Click the Notifications link at the top right of the page to view this. The tech sheet has information to test the thermistor and a mode you can put the washer into to test the temperature switch. Let us know what you find.

These are the parts for your model washer:

    Rotary Control Switch - Part # PD00008414 (mfg # W10414397)

    Water Inlet Valve - Part # PD00008561 (mfg # W10683603)

    Main Control Board - Part # PD00004191 (mfg # W10484681)

I found a bad connection on the main control board. The thermistor connection was bad. Plugged it in-and-out several times. Problem solved. Thanks fro all your help!
