    Ice Maker Installation

    Model Number: RFG298HDWPXAA01
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

In this refrigerator I knocked the DA97-07603A Lower Ice Maker Assembly loose. I've got it reinstalled and it is making ice.
I could not figure out where what I think is a temperature sensor is supposed to go. The ice coming out is a little wet and sloppy. Hope someone can send me picture or drawing of location of the sensor end. Thanks, Dave

Please see the attache picture below. I circled the location of the sensor. It is held in place by a plastic piece and rubber piece and attaches to the ice tray.

These are the pieces used to attach the sensor:

    Ice Maker Sensor Cover - Part # PD00002085 (mfg # DA63-02183A)

    Sensor Holder - Part # PD00002202 (mfg # DA61-01800A)

Thank you. Great help. Will let you know how it works out after I take the time to do it. I'll use you in the future if I need a part.

This is the temperature sensor correct? If misplaced, it will cause the ice to be sloppy?

    Thanks again, Dave

    Dave,

Yes, that white probe is the temperature sensor. The ice maker will not make ice correctly if this sensor is not attached to the ice tray. It is probably pre-maturely dumping the ice because the sensor is registering a freezing temperature even though the ice in the ice maker hasn't froze yet. Let us know how it works after you get it fixed.
