Samsung French Door Ice maker issue - not working, no water added

    Model Number: RF4267HARS
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hello there,

So my ice maker stopped working on my Samsung fridge. I changed the filter and the water dispenser pressure/supply appears to be good/normal. I noticed some periodic whirring noises coming from the ice maker region and turned off the ice maker. I removed the ice maker and found it full of cubes with the dump arms frozen in the ice. I thawed the freezer to remove the cubes, put it back together and reinstalled the ice maker. More than 24 hours and no ice. I removed the ice maker and no water was dispensed into the maker.

So... is it the water solenoid/valve that fills the maker or is my ice maker broken or is it the control board? Good times!

    Thanks,

    Dwayne

Have you checked to make sure the temperature in the ice maker compartment is 10F or colder?

I haven't got a thermometer to verify but I've tried the temp settings as cold as possible. The last function I had was that the ice maker was full, frozen solid. Since I removed the ice and installed it back, no water.

Would you suggest replacing the ice maker? Or could it be solenoid? Or control board?

Does the maker call for water?

    Thanks

I would first get a thermometer and check the temperature in the ice maker compartment.

Hi Doc Ryan - finally got a thermometer and its -12, even if I set it to -22C. Will it keep the water from filling if it's not cold enough?
