Pump motor assembly still loud after replacement

    Model Number: 58714019406A
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hello,
I just replaced the pump motor assembly on my dishwasher and it's still making a mild whining sound, even after the power turns off and it's spinning down for a second. The original part number was 154792901 and the replacement part is 154859201. The original pump didn't make a sound when it worked. I'm just wondering if this is normal for this part to make this sound or should I request a replacement? The housing around the motor assembly was cracked on arrival, but it looked cosmetic. Maybe it had been dropped and broke more than just the housing?
