This 20 yr. oven is clicking from the clock control board ( part #12200028, no error messages) while in operation and when off. The stove and cooktop are fully functional. A Engineer friend replaced several capacitors (one was leaking) and said the relay looks fine. I re-installed the board and the conditions continued. I disconnected the board and taped the connectors to prove the board is not necessary to operate the oven or cooktop. I believe the board's purpose is only for delayed timing and clock operation. If I am not interested in these features is it safe to use the oven with the board disconnected or partly connected just to power up the clock?

I want to operate the oven safely and don't want to lose any functionality of killing the oven via the board's intervention if a failure would arise. Attached are several wiring diagrams from the oven. Any help is greatly appreciated.
