Samsung Dryer - Timer runs fast on "Normal" Setting

    Model Number: dv50f9a6gvw/a2
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

I have a Samsung Gas Dryer (Model No. dv50f9a6gvw/a2) that's 2 years old. After trouble shooting I have found out the following:
    • Vent Line Is Not Clogged
    • Dryer heats up fine
    • Drum is rotating
    • On "Normal" setting the timer goes from 40min > 39min > 38min > OFF.
    • On "Manual" setting I stood there for 20min (on a 40min setting) and no issues
    • Display board numbers aren't lighting up properly (ie. on a "9" the top horizontal line and top right vertical line will be missing, others numbers have some of the LED lines missing as well)

Could it be the main control board that's the issue since the normal setting is what's causing problems? Will this fix the display board as well or should I get another of those also?

    Thanks!

Did you test it with something in the dryer? Just a few socks or something... It might be the sensors on the lint trap assembly - two small metal bars on the right side. Have to stick your head in the dryer to see them. Seems like if something doesn't touch those every two minutes when drying, the dryer shuts off. I read somewhere about cleaning them with rubbing alcohol.
