Samsung Dryer with main board issues

    Model Number: DV42H5000EW/A3
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

I recently acquired a fairly new Samsung DV42H5000EW/A3 electric dryer.

The original owner said the main board blew a month before the warranty expired.

The repairman replaced the main board and a week or 2 later it blew again.

He got pissed at it, called Samsung, and I guess they gave him a refund and he bought a new non Samsung dryer.

I'm getting ready to take a crack at it and am not sure where to begin and have a few questions.

I did some research and read something some where about checking thermal fuses before replacing the main board.

Is there a parts list for this thing on-line somewhere that could show me how many it has and where they are located?

    I would appreciate any advice.

    Thank you in advance.

    Tom

New board is in and still no heat.

I'm sure I felt heat coming out of the back before I slid the dryer back in place. :-(

    to summarize:

Unit runs fine with either main board; just no heat!

Thermal Fuse, Thermistor, Thermostat, Thermal Cut out & Heating element all have good continuity.

I also checked the element & wires for breaks, loose connections and contact shorts.

    Any suggestions?

    HELP!?

Try some of the things on my thread: http://forum.partsdr.com/showthread....yer-Won-t-Heat

There might be a way to do a diagnostic test. If so, and if it heats up during that test, my guess would be that it's the centrifugal switch (located on the motor).
