[FIXED] Ice maker issues Samsung RF4267HARS/XAA01: Ice maker, PCB, or water inlet?

    Model Number: RF4267HARS/XAA01
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hi everyone,

I've got an icemaker that seems to make massive cubes that trap the harvesting arm, very similar to this thread:

    http://forum.partsdr.com/showthread....e-maker-issues

I've been able to remove the ice maker, defrost the jammed up ice, and get it back installed. It made one set of normal cubes, then a set of really big ones that dispensed, but showed holes from the trapped harvesting arm.

I'm trying to figure out if I need to order a new icemaker, a new PCB (like in the link above), or a new water filter case assembly.

Anyone have any idea how I could figure out which part I need? With each part over $100 and non returnable once installed I'd hate to go through a cycle of getting the wrong parts!

It's hard to say if you have one problem or more than one. I would start by unplugging the refrigerator, removing the ice maker, and checking to see if what continues to drip through the fill tube. This will help you determine if the water valve is leaking.

I didn't find any drips from the fill tube, and the ice maker then stopped making any ice at all. I've replaced it with an ice maker ordered from Parts Dr, which was easy to install. However, the first night I couldn't seem to get the "reset" switch to work. I'd press it, no "ding dong" chime of the reset. So no ice was made. Tonight I tried hitting the reset switch again, and this time got a chime and the secondary "it's working" chime a few minutes later.

    Hopefully we get ice tonight...

No luck. The ice maker did it's test cycle and dumped one set of ice. Then overnight no more. What could be the problem?

Have you checked the temperature in the ice maker compartment using a thermometer? It should be 10F or cold in the ice maker compartment for it to work properly.

Yes, it's definitely cold in the compartment. I checked with a thermometer and it's about 8F.

    Ice compartment is cold.
Brand new ice maker from partsdr successfully tests, then nothing.
    No leaking from the outlet.
Water dispenses fine through the door.

Going to try a new main PCB, hopefully that works.

Yes it could be a bad main board from what you have described.

Success! Replaced the PCB last night and this morning woke to a full bin of ice.
