Refridgerator and freezer temperatures are fluctuating

    Model Number: PFS22SISBSS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 6-10 years

Started hearing a clicking sound coming from the refrigerator. Also noticed the digital readouts for freezer portion and refrigerator were flucuating frequently. Thought maybe the motherboard was the problem from reading other posts. Further checking I heard the clicking coming from the bottom left of the refrigerator as you look at it from behind. Any ideas

Does the clicking noise seem to be coming from the compressor area or behind the panel where the main control board is located?

Probably the compressor area. Lower left of the unit. Sounds like a relay starting and stopping.

How frequently does the relay starting and stopping noise occur?

When it happens, usually 10-15 seconds apart then it stops for a while but will start up and repeat. Since my first post, it has been happening primarily in the evening, but not as frequently.

If the clicking noise happens every few seconds then that is usually the main control board. If the clicking noise happens every few minutes then that is usually the start relay & overload on the side of the compressor. If it is acting up intermittently you may need to have the refrigerator pulled out so you can quickly access it when it happens to see which part is making the noise.
