Hi
I need some Help - My 8 year old GE washer started making clanking noise when it spins, I did some research and I was able to replace the tub bearing, Now washing machine fills, agitates, and drains, and will not spin. I called a technician, (charged me $60.00) he checked the power on the motor and said that the power was intermittent, and told me that the timer was faulty.
On my Model GE4200B0ww, The timer is integrated into the main control board, and per the technician, the main control panel has to be changed to at the cost of $250.00 + $150.00 for Labor.
My research on the Internet and YouTube shows that the problem is with the clutch. I took the front Panel off, and watched the machine work through Fill, Agitate and Drain cycles and when it comes to slow spin and drain the Drum does not spin and the transmission and break assembly does not rotate, The belt around the clutch rotates from the pully.
How do I get the machine fixed?
Any suggestions / help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You
