Kenmore Elite dishwasher won't start

My Kenmore Elite dishwasher (bought used 6 years ago) will not start. None of the buttons on the control panel light up. I checked to make sure it was plugged in and that the breaker had not been tripped. I noticed not all the water had drained the last time I ran it.

I don't have a model number because the sticker where I think it was has been pulled off and the numbers are backwards and illegible.

Help, please. Any suggestions?

I won't be much help in solving your problem - I'm just another guy with a broken dishwasher, not an expert - but I wonder if you could find the model number or any other useful information on a manual or technician's diagnostic sheet(mine was in a pouch behind the kick panel underneath the dishwasher door), if those are available.

They usually only put the model and serial number on one tag on the dishwasher. If that tag is missing you might find it listed on your original purchase receipt or owners manual.
