This is new water
It sounds like your water inlet valve might be leaking intermittently. If this is the case we recommend to replace the water inlet valve. An easy test you can make is to unplug the washer and leave it sit overnight, if the washer continues to fill with water when the washer is unplugged then the water inlet valve is bad and leaking.
