Dryer drum turns, no hot air.

My Samsung dryer suddenly stopped heating. Drum turns, has power to the control panel. Strangely, I can turn off the power to the unit, close the door, and the drum turns and runs indefinitely. The only way I can get it to stop is open the door. I took off the rear panel and cleaned the lint, good airflow and no blockage anywhere. Any ideas?

Did the heating and continuous running problems occur at the same time?

Yes, it runs continuously with no heat. Only way to stop it is to open the door.
