No power supply to Ice Maker module

    Model Number: WRS526SIAE
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

Refrigerator Whirlpool WRS526SIAE. Ice maker stopped working. I'm an electronic tech. Checked almost everything. Power is NOT coming to Ice Maker module. Absolutely. Have no schematic on hand but guess something wrong with IR (laser?) optic, because LED diode is lit only first 3-4 minutes after initial plug in to outlet, then diode extinguished and not lit anymore. Diode is not blinking when door is open but lit steady. When diode lit first 3-4 minutes I've tested optic closing/opening seems okay (diode on-off), but when diode extinguished, no reaction. Question: What is the probable issue? Main control board or optic transmitter/receiver? Thanks

Following to earlier thread while making service diagnostic tests observed TEST 25 water dispensing and ice maker fill test for water dispensing value (digit at display) changing from 0 to 1 when pressing tab for water (water flow with normal pressure), but for simulation of ice maker fill test looks like FAIL. Value (digit at display) NOT changing, i.e. all the time "0" while pressing tab for ice dispenser. Filled ice maker manually with water - it's freezing but no cycling. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

P.S. Thanks for good posts and previous exchange with schematic. Very detailed. Continue to investigate the reason.

Very good day to all subscribers.
Developing of the Story. While finished checking everything, finally found NO CONTINUITY on Black/White wire, starting from socket at top of freezer door to the socket at the bottom of refrigerator underneath of freezer door... No jammed or tear/chafed wires at any visible and accessible parts. Stopped herewith with further checks as seems all modules working properly. Trying to find solution on how to bypass this Black/White wire outside of freezer door. The only solution at this time to pass under door gasket, as seems entire door is sealed with foam. Any suggestions of people who has similar problems are welcome. Meantime will have a look if I can purchase door body with wiring only (without any modules) and have an intention to send a nice message to Whirlpool to see what they will reply. Thanks to Chinese wiring.

Have a nice Black Friday eve.

    Good day Gents,

The end of the story - while took out insulation below freezer door found black wire (one of 4 leading to ice maker) just cut off - it was not looks like by reason of frequent opening and closing door, but bad harness OR someone in China or (have no idea where they assembling harness) made a junk thing to us putting well known faulty wire. Took soldering iron, Pb, aspirin 1 tablet (for better soldering), magnifying glass and coupling from Home Depot. after preparation connected both sides of wire. Ice maker works perfectly.

Have a nice day to all.
