    [FIXED] Samsung dryer

    Model Number: DV337AER/AER
    Brand: Samsung
    Age: 1-5 years

I have a Samsung dryer that gave me an Eh code which indicates i need to check heating element. Dryer does not heat. I checked heating element it was intact. I ran the upper and lower voltage which was 120v top 120v bottom. The thermostat checked out. The error code disappeared but dryer still does not heat. All other functions on dryer work. So I decieded to replace the entire heating unit. This made no difference. The dryer still does not heat. I do not understand nor know what more I can do. Any advise will be aporeciated.

Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug
    L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
    If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
    If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

Using Neutral/ground when checking a heat problem can be misleading.
When the heater circuit is OK you will measure 120 at each end of the element. L1 at one end and L2 at the other. This gives 240 across the element.
But let say there is a power or part problem you can often still measure 120 at each end but it may be L1 at both ends or L2 at both ends. With this you get 0 volts across the element.
