    Water Inlet Valve Testing

    Model Number: KSRJ25FXWH03
    Brand: KitchenAid
    Age: 1-5 years

I recently ordered a new water inlet valve for my Kitchenaid refrigerator (W10179146). I understand the valve can be checked for problems by testing the continuity between each pair of terminals. The inlet valve I just ordered is showing no continuity between terminals. Does this mean my new water inlet valve is defective?

Could be but it depends what meter scale you are using.

For instance if the inlet valve coil is 300 ohms and you are on the 200 ohm scale, it will show as no continuity.

So try increasing the meter scale

    Thank you for your reply.

I'm actually using the tone option on my meter. I can hold the meter probes together to get the tone, but when I test the part I get no tone. Unfortunately I have no option to increase the scale on my meter.
